Burdekin School is a State special school catering to students from Prep to Year 12, requiring highly individualised curriculum and support services. The school also has an Early Childhood Developmental Program which provides early intervention services for children not yet of school age who require developmental support. Our staff specialise in providing learning environments for students with a range of intellectual and multiple disabilities. Burdekin School caters to students with disabilities, from Gumlu, north of Bowen, to Giru, south of Townsville. We are committed to scaffolding work, social, and life skills of students preparing to transition to post-school options, and actively seek opportunities for our students to participate in the workforce and local community.
